Good News: Warm Congratulations to Researcher Lyu Yun of the Department of Psychology on Receiving the 2026 Outstanding Early Career Professional Supervisor/Trainer Award

Recently, Division 17 (Society of Counseling Psychology) of the American Psychological Association (APA) announced the recipient of the 2026 Outstanding Early Career Professional Supervisor/Trainer Award. Researcher Lyu Yun, a faculty member of the Department of Psychology under the Hundred Talents Program, has been honored with this award.


 

This award is established by the Section on Supervision and Training of Division 17 (Society of Counseling Psychology) of the American Psychological Association. It aims to recognize counseling psychologists who have made outstanding contributions to the supervision and training of counseling psychology trainees in clinical or academic settings within ten years of receiving their doctoral degree. Recipients are required to demonstrate distinguished performance in supervision or training, as well as a sustained commitment to the profession of counseling psychology. This award serves as a high-level recognition of Researcher Lyu Yun's exceptional contributions to the supervision and training of counseling psychology professionals.


 

Researcher Lyu Yun's primary research interests encompass the process and outcome of psychological counseling, professional competence of counselors, and campus adaptation of first-generation college students. She investigates the influence of multicultural factors on mental health, counselor development, and psychological interventions. In the areas of clinical practicum supervision, course instruction, and practical skills training, Researcher Lyu has consistently demonstrated dedication, rigor, and responsibility, earning high praise from both students and colleagues.
