In September 2019, the Leadership and Cross-Cultural Exchange Delegation from the Department of Psychology and Behavioral Science at Zhejiang University, led by Professor Jian'an Zhong, traveled to Hong Kong for a four-day leadership and cross-cultural exchange program. During their visit, the delegation toured the campuses of City University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and visited Convoy Financial Group, Memorigin Watch Company, and the Hong Kong Museum of History. Despite the short duration, the program was highly rewarding.

On the morning of September 10, the delegation visited City University of Hong Kong. Faculty and students from the Department of Management warmly welcomed the Zhejiang University delegation. Department Head Jane LU delivered a speech to extend her greetings and welcome. Professor Ziguang Chen from City University of Hong Kong gave a lecture on leadership, explaining the concepts of personal transformation, the three steps of transformation, and the meaning of paradoxical leadership from various perspectives. This helped students understand the essential qualities of corporate leaders and the necessity of organizational change. In the afternoon, the delegation visited The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, experiencing its rich academic atmosphere and vibrant educational environment.

On the morning of September 11, the delegation visited Convoy Financial Group. Dr. Jingjing Liu, Chief Wealth Management Advisor, shared her academic and professional journey, introduced the development of Convoy Financial Group, its team, and related knowledge on financial planning. Her insights encouraged students to reflect on the relationship between their current majors and future career paths. Following the sharing session, students engaged in a lively discussion with Dr. Liu about the current state and future trends of the consulting industry, gaining valuable insights.

In the afternoon of September 11, the delegation visited the Hong Kong Museum of History. Through observing the collections and exhibitions, along with detailed explanations from the docents, the delegation significantly enhanced their understanding and interest in Hong Kong's historical development and unique cultural heritage. The permanent exhibitions on natural and human history showcased 6,000 years of Hong Kong's development, deepening everyone's appreciation and comprehension of Hong Kong's culture.

On the morning of September 12, the delegation visited the Memorigin watch brand's office in Chai Wan Industrial City, Hong Kong. After touring the office, R&D room, and watch restoration workshop, the delegation gathered around a long table to listen to the brand founder, Mr. Huilin Shen, share the story behind Memorigin's establishment. Students gained a more intuitive understanding of the challenges of entrepreneurship in Hong Kong's manufacturing industry and the prosperity of its financial sector. From the first meticulously designed watch that integrated woodcarving with tourbillon technology to Memorigin's current outstanding achievements, the brand's success is attributed to Mr. Shen's dedication to traditional Chinese culture and tourbillon watchmaking technology. Professional knowledge in economics and management, as well as strong emotional management skills, also played crucial roles in his entrepreneurial journey.

Although the exchange program lasted only four days, the gains and growth experienced by the students were profound and lasting. It is believed that, inspired by the boundless cultural spirit of Hong Kong, all students will remember the values of unity and innovation emblematic of Hong Kong. By integrating their expertise in psychology with vitality, and upholding Zhejiang University's core spirit of Seeking Truth and Pioneering New Trails, they will further enhance their cultural literacy and contribute to the development and growth of Zhejiang University's Department of Psychology.
