Professor Licinio, currently a Distinguished Professor at SUNY Upstate Medical University, USA, also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of top-tier journals such as Molecular Psychiatry and Translational Psychiatry under the Nature portfolio. Since its inception in 1996, Molecular Psychiatry has consistently maintained one of the highest impact factors in the global psychiatry field, having published 41 research articles by 9 Nobel Laureates. Translational Psychiatry has also become a core journal in the field of translational psychiatry.

With decades of dedicated work in molecular psychiatry and translational psychiatry, Professor Licinio has achieved remarkable results in areas such as the biology of hunger and satiety, mechanisms underlying the comorbidity of depression and obesity, and pharmacogenomics. He has published 548 academic papers and boasts a Google Scholar h-index of 94. He is also a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences and has led multiple major NIH research projects, driving the translation of basic research into clinical applications and making outstanding contributions to the advancement of global psychiatry.
